Haskel Hydrogen Systems Collaborates With Total on Completion ofHydrogen Refuelling Station
Haskel’s Hydrogen Systems Group, a business of the Precision and Science Technologies Segment at Ingersoll Rand Inc. (NYSE:IR), is pleased to announce the successful development, installation and deployment of new hydrogen refuelling equipment for the public hydrogen station of Total Nederland N.V., located in the Dutch city of Arnhem. The new station, which is owned and operated by Total, has been fully operational since October.
Haskel designed and developed the compressor equipment that is at the core of Total’s hydrogen refuelling installation in Arnhem. The station provides hydrogen at 700 bar for the refuelling of passenger cars as well as 350 bar used to fill up heavy-duty vehicles, such as public transport buses and refuse collection trucks.
Haskel’s Hydrogen Systems Group and Total Nederland have both made intentional investments in hydrogen refuelling infrastructure to advance the adoption of hydrogen mobility. Collaborating on this installation supports the deployment of public hydrogen refuelling infrastructure in the Netherlands, aligning with the government’s zero emissions targets.
Haskel’s General Manager of Hydrogen, Darran Heath, states, “Collaborating with Total is an exciting achievement for Haskel Hydrogen Systems. We are proud of the success of the initial station and look forward to future opportunities to work together to meet the rapidly growing demands for hydrogen infrastructure.”
“This step towards hydrogen mobility is a good example of shared responsibility for the energy transition, and Total Nederland is pleased to take up its role in this energy transition,” says Geert Houbrechts, Director Retail, Total Nederland N.V. “Every day, we are committed to make energy more affordable, reliable, clean and accessible to as many people as possible. Our ambition is to become net zero by 2050 together with society and to continue to act with our customers to achieve this target.”
The equipment developed for this station consists of skidded solutions featuring Haskel’s hydraulic-drive gas booster, H-Drive, which has a modular design for continuous, long-duration operation that is safe and efficient. The equipment will support rapid and reliable deployment of Total’s skidded solution capable of supporting hydrogen-powered passenger vehicles, buses and refuse collection vehicles.

The skidded system was designed with standardization in mind for all hydrogen refuelling systems. Haskel’s custom solution capabilities leverage the same systems approach and technology behind their turnkey refuelling station designs, Nano Range and Geno Range.
